With a literacy rate of 87%, Lagos State has an army of over 3 million adults who cannot engage in basic economic, social, and political activities that tie us together as a society – banking, helping children with their homework, proper business accounting, voting, etc. In addition, studies have shown that illiteracy is tied to socially deviant behaviours.
“Eko nko Eko” (Lagos is Learning) is a response and rallying call for all residents of Lagos State to join hands to address the problem of illiteracy.
With a target of reaching 1 million adult learners with literacy content by 2019, we are inviting well-intentioned citizens and organizations in Lagos State to do their part to ensure no Lagosian is left behind.
