2017 Sensitization and Mobilization Campaign Drive on Adult Literacy in Ten (10) Local Government Areas of Lagos State
Sensitization and Mobilization Campaign is one of the programmes introduced by the Agency to create awareness on the importance of Literacy Education in the State. Aside this, the sensitization and mobilization campaign encourages reading, writing and calculating simple arithmetic which is the basic in making people literate.
In line with the above, the Lagos State Government launched the ‘Eko Nke Koo’ (Lagos is Learning) project in October 2016 to scale up the process of reducing illiteracy in our Society, via sensitization and mobilization campaign and other literacy programme.
In year 2016, the programme was flagged off at Ikosi-Ejinrin by the Special Adviser on Education. This year, the programme will be carried out in ten (10) local Government Areas/local Council Development Areas; while the programme will be carried out in other LGAs/LCDAs thereafter.
Advocacy visit would be paid to Community Development Associations (CDAs) members, Baales, Obas and Local Government Areas for their support to mobilize their members, conduct campaigns around the streets, Mosque, Churches and Communities.
